I got this as a gift for my brother. He absolutely loved it. The ball comes back when you miss, or when you get it inside the hole. The mat itself was a bit wrinkled but I'm sure you could iron it and it'd be perfect. Also, we used it on a thick carpet and the ball didn't roll back all the way to him.
