I enjoy camping and would often lug an air mattress out with me to sleep on. It was always such a pain to inflate/deflate, and the air pump would go through batteries faster than I could buy them. For my most recent camping trip, I gave up on the air mattress after borrowing/stealing my sister's thermarest sleeping mat. I figured I'd suffer it out on this mat just so I wouldn't have to deal with the air mattress.
That night at the campsite, I unrolled the mat and realized it was self-inflating. It inflated by itself about half way, and then I finished blowing it up myself the rest of the way. This was probably because it was stored rolled up, but it wasn't a problem at all. It only took about 30 seconds to fill it up myself. And it was absolutely perfect for what I was looking for! It wasn't a luxury mattress, but hey you're camping. It was extremely comfortable and I can't wait to use it again.
