I too bought mine at Sears on sale for around $25 about three years ago. The only maintenance so far has been watch bands, which run about $11. So I have spent more (I am on my third band) on watch bands than the watch. Keeps excellent time, easy to use and rugged. The crystal is scratched, the body has worn to a very shiny black, but it keeps on tickin'.
I bought it for the analog dial and was surprised by the features. I never take it off and I have shoveled, cut logs, fenced and a host of other abrasive and shock prone tasks.
